Jimmy Nguyen is an award-winning entertainment and digital media lawyer, speech expert, equal rights and diversity advocate, and media commentator.
Before his current life, Jimmy was a champion forensics competitor. Competing for Mt. San Antonio College, he won the Bovero-Tabor Award at the 1992 and 1993 Phi Rho Pi national tournaments. Jimmy is the last 2-time winner of the Bovero award. He also competed at the American Forensics Association’s National Individual Events Tournament – where in his last year, he placed Mt. SAC in the Top 20 school sweepstakes awards as a one-man team.
With a life history of excelling early, Jimmy attended law school at the University of Southern California on a full scholarship and received his law degree at age 22. Jimmy was the moot court champion of his law school class, and won the 1995 National Evidence Moot Court Competition.
After competing in forensics, Jimmy volunteered as an assistant coach for Mt. San Antonio College’s speech and debate team, which he helped coach to numerous national titles. Although he no longer coaches, Jimmy stays involved in forensics as a co-founder and tournament director for the American Readers Theater association – which runs a national tournament devoted to readers theater.

He previously served on the Board of Equality California, California’s leading LGBT civil rights organization. Working with writer/director and forensics friend Liesel Reinhart, Jimmy is a creative producer of the new “it gets better” touring musical theater show to help stop bullying of LGBT youth.
